The Association for Family Tourism within the Croatian Chamber of Economy has now joined the European Holiday Home Association. The association aims to give a voice to holiday homes’ owners in Croatia.

The Association for Family Tourism has been founded within the Croatian Chamber of Economy in 2010 and today it represents more than 80 000 owners of rooms, apartments, holiday homes and campsites. The association represents the major part of the Croatian tourism – it offers 500 000 beds or 50% of a total accommodation capacity. The president of the association, Mr Nedo Pinezić, the owner of several apartments and holiday homes on the island of Krk, is a highly experienced and well known representative of a private accommodation segment, always on disposal to serve to the benefit of the association’s members.

In order to share best practices, the association organizes an annual national forum of family tourism which gathers around 1000 owners and other interested parties. The EHHA Secretary General Mr Carlos Villaro Lassen was one of the distinguished lecturers at its last edition in Zadar (in November 2016) and with EHHA membership, the association is looking forward to enhance its visibility within the European network.

Croatia is proud to have implemented a successful legal model of private accommodation which benefits the state, entire community and renters. Private accommodation is not only a pure business model but rather a life-style of the Croatian citizens who want to express their hospitality to visitors from all over the world.

Mr Carlos Villaro Lassen, Secretary General of the EHHA, said: “We are happy that the Association for Family Tourism in Croatia has joined the EHHA. We are sure that the association will help us to showcase the benefits of short term rental to all players – government, local communities, consumers and holiday home owners.”

EHHA was founded in 2013 by some of the biggest holiday rental industry players in Europe. Its membership consists of managers’ associations, trade associations, and national and international companies operating in the European Union.
