AIGAB, the Italian association of short-term rental managers, has joined the European Holiday Home Association as a member!
In October 2020, AIGAB was established by CEOs of the Italian companies operating in a professional short term rental market (Italianway, Wonderful Italy, CleanBnB, Altido, Sweetguest) and which together represent a turnover of 60 million euros, manage 5 thousand houses, employ 300 employees and, in addition, involve 1500 employees in other industries which support the short term rental sector.
AIGAB aims to work with policy makers in Italy and make sure that short term rental managers (professionals) are well treated and acknowledged as a part of the tourism sector in Italy. The association also aims to map the short-term rental sector in Italy and encourage professionalization and responsibility of the sector.
During the first lockdown in Italy due to COVID-19 pandemic, the short-term rental companies were involved in the charity initiative #stateacasanostra (#stayatourhouse) which supported doctors, nurses and medical staff by allowing them to stay in houses these companies were managing.
Marco Celani, President of AIGAB, said: “We are very happy to join EHHA. Italian short term rental market is huge and very fragmented and really needed to be represented at a national and European level. Joining EHHA we are sure we’ll be able to have a useful comparison table with high professional organizations facing the same issues and sharing different experiences. Together we’ll represent a growing market in the European common space.”
EHHA was founded in 2013. EHHA gathers over 50 members: national trade associations and national/international companies operating in the short-term rental industry in Europe.
