The Awards highlight the great quality and enormous diversity in the short-term holiday home rental market for tourist in Europe.
With more than 1.000 nominations from 22 European countries, the Awards have reached a new level, and the quality and diversity among all 14 categories is immense.

“The EHHA is extremely proud to announce the winners of the Best European Holiday Holiday Home 2017 and we will promote the houses as some of the finest examples of European holiday short-term rental accommodation,” says Secretary General of EHHA, Carlos Villaro Lassen.
“The 20 million beds in holiday homes available for short term rental represents an enormous diversity and suits many different needs. So, by adding new Award-categories – such as Best Winter Holiday Home and Best Romantic Escape Holiday Home – we are even better able to highlight this diversity”, says Carlos Villaro Lassen. He continues: “It is a bit harsh though, that we can only have 8 finalists in each category, because there are many more houses that are well worth the recognition”.

About the Industry

More than 20 million beds are available in European holiday homes, providing fantastic multitude of choice of accommodation from the Northern tip of Norway to the isles of Greece for groups, individuals and families travelling on holiday.
Through the internet, the houses are just a few clicks away from millions of travelers and tourists, and by allowing their holiday home to be rented by others, the owners are proactively promoting a better use of resources, giving the tourists a wider range of choice as well as improving the economic development in the area.
The European Holiday Home Association was founded in 2013 to give a voice to the short-term rental industry. The EHHA’s members range from associations representing private house owners to managers’ associations and digital platforms. Its members operate in all the European Union countries. The core of the association is the distribution of short term rentals in private houses and apartments.
